Yooooooo WTF?! When did this happen?!
Heavy couldn't haven't been any older than 45-46.
Goddamn man. He was one of the most liked people in Hip-Hop too. No one could say anything bad about him.
As a matter of fact he was one of the first legitimate, credible Rap artist to crossover to pop on the strength of his music, and not by design.

He was the first legitimate Rap artist (not named Ice or Hammer) to be played on Z-100 & Hot97, when Hot97 was still a "white" station playing Freestyle and Pop.

That was a landmark moment for New York

“Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not good. Hence a Prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires”.

- Nicolo Machiavelli 1469-1527

The original B.I.G.....
He put on CL Smooth, Pete Rock etc....I knew his kid brother, the Dancer that fell off the stage (RIP)..

... was a very positive influential rapper (something lacking in the early 90s)..

you know that whole "say no to drugs, dont defile women" message.

Glad He was around...

I dont think it was lacking in the early 90s....at all. I think it is nonexistent today, but back then...

Tribe
De La
Pharcyde
Boogie Monsters
Run DMC
Common
Digable
Jeru

It goes on and on. There were MANY more "positive" artists out there back then.
