Road Bicycle? - March 25, 2008, 07:11 PM

I'm thinking of purchasing an entry level road bicycle. Now i'm looking for something with decent components however entry level price. I know we have some cyclist on here. If anyone is doing spring cleaning and wants to get rid of a trusted and true road bike or can point me in the right direction. Please let me know. I'm in need of something that will fit me as I'm 5'9".
Thanks,
-Curtis

Buy mine! I have a Cannondale CAAD. Shimano components, 59cm frame, ect.. It was fitted for me and I'm 5'10 on a tall day

$800 - it's a really good bike.

I've got a 2001 Lemond Tourmalet which I would part with. I've put less than 1000 miles on it. I'm 5'9" also so it should fit you.

I love the LeMond bikes! My last year of road racing the shop gave me a LeMond TVT with Campi C-Record components...it was a great bike.

I've ridden a few of his steel frames and they are very nice, a lot of character and the welds were very very nice.

Although, that bike wasn't exactly entry level however, I did pick up a specialized, you can get them cheap and with a decent component set. Performance Bicycles usually have good deals on last year's models.

I should call up my old sponsor and touch base with him so I can send people his way.

Hum, I'll give him a call tomorrow...it has been a while so I can't promise anything.

I ride a Trek 8000 MTB 3 - 4 days a week at work. I love them but have more friends that like to hit the long winding country roads.

I knew it. You're just like that guy I work with.

I tell him how I had to leave my Wal-Mart special behind at the place where I was renting a room on the eastern shore..... The separation, impending divorce and all that.

Basic story: I ask him about a cheap entry level bike and tell him I am FIRST trying to save money to put a hitch on my car to mount my bike rack on BEFORE the money to buy a bike can happen.

What does this "Crack Dealer" in disguise do? He shows up at work one day soon after and says: "Come outside, I've got something to show you".

Like a guy giving a potential addict a free rock or a baggie of smack, gratis.

He lets me ride his FIXIE up and down the alley behind Chick&Ruth's and , people,

I'M HOOKED !!!!! I WANT ONE, BAD !!!!

FUCKER. I HATE HIM NOW.....

THEN....!!! I meet some guy at the GYM who competes ! AAAAUUUUGGGGH!

Now I ride the 'Spinner" stationary bike for ten minutes short of an hour,
work up a good sweat, and dream................

Dick!

I didn't pay for it, so she can't have half !
