For the Runners and Exercisers...Got my Under Armour Charge RC's today - October 7, 2011, 05:14 PM

So I been wanting to really get into running more. Went to Potomac River in reston and got fitted for these Asics Evo 5 shoes. Said to be a overpronator so I had to get a pair that was made for inner ankle support.

Anywayz...them shits hurt like crazy. So I was informed that Under Armor was coming out with a new running shoe. Limited Release...real release is Mid December. I hoped on the limited release and I got to say....GREAT running shoe. I read all the hype. You may be aware of the "FOOTSTEPS" commercial, well this is that shoe. I reccommend this shoe if you are looking at running and trying to go into the cold season with a hot season body like I am trying myself.

Commercial:

Shoe(comes with black laces too, but hey running shoes are suppose to be bright so I through the red laces in)...

I went to a store that specialized in running shoes for advice. I have always tended to run with my toes turning inward which gives me an uneven stance overall. I had to mentally concentrate on keeping my foot straight throughout the entire stride to get it right and it was damn uncomfortable. They fitted me with several shoes and finally put on a pair that literally straightened out my feet through the stride without me even having to try. I didn't even notice. Case in point...the right shoe matched to a person can make a huge difference.

if you dont get fitted for shoes your only going to hurt yourself.

and dont go to a running store that watches you run. go to one with a treadmill and video camera. do a little due diligence yourself before you go, cause even thought they are "trained" sometimes they dont care.

yep thats what they do...put you in them, put you on the treadmill and watch you go. Point out this and that, then you go stand on this pressure pad and shows if you are flat footed or not...anyways. I gave them to my dad and he loves them andI just got these. I have learned that I do well with the free-er shoe like the Nike Free or These or the Reebok Dots.

But in all seriousness, yes, if you plan on doing any kind of real running you need to get yourself down to say a Fleet Feet and get a sneaker that matches your gait and running style.

More expensive is not always better. More "tricks" is not always better either.

A good middle point brand to start your fitment search off with is New Balance. They have an amazing variety of widths, fit and arch support levels.

I live in Nike Air Max 95's. I think at this point I have bought about 5 pairs of them, but would I do any kind of "real" running in them. Nope.

BDS, what did those run you? I just got into running and have been using the Asics Kayano 15s and now their GT2160. I like these a lot but also wonder how much it would cost to get custom fitted.

One of my friends managed a FinishLine for 5 years and is a total sneaker head
(200+ pairs). He's not surprised the EVOs weren't comfortable. He put me onto a pair of Asics Nimbus... I love them! Not the lightest runner available, but like wearing a couch on my feet.
