RV storage? - October 1, 2013, 10:47 AM

Does anyone know of some place that has reasonably priced storage for an RV? Its just a 21 footer and I don't plan to keep it there too long. I need to get it fixed and sell it. I can't put it on the road because its currently not legal (fixing it up for that as well). I have to remove it from where it sits within the next couple of days.

Preferably somewhere along the 66 corridor between 495 and Haymarket.

Ashburn, Leesburg, Burke and South Manassas also fine. Basically anything WEST of DC..

Thanks

There is a place off of Hay/Ridge road in Ashburn. Marlon was using it for his RV. Said the prices weren't too bad.

I still use the lots in Sterling at the parks. But the lines are looooong to get in.

Forgot the storage place name. Its right next to the junk yard on rt one. Going south, just before the split to 95 or stay on rt 1

A lot in Gainesville, VA offers storage for $75, but it's not secured (no fence or cameras).

time wise? hopefully not more than 1 or 2 months. I need to get it fixed up and SOLD and I want to do that as fast as possible. I plan to get it up to date with tags and stuff first, once I have that I can just store it on the side of the road. I can't do that if its not legal, which it currently isn't.. But it WILL be..

Found a place to put it once I get it legal.. But I gotta get it out of where its at ASAP.

Anyone know of a place that will inspect the RV and not be jerks about finding every little thing wrong so they can charge me to fix it? lol.. had some wonderful experiences with THAT before..

Have you tried Holly Acres in Woodbridge? I don't have an RV, but dropped my boat off there today to get winterized and have the trailer inspected and the inspector just looked at it and put a sticker on which worked for me because the turn signals don't work. May be worth a shot.

will give them a ring.. sounds great.. The thing is not in bad shape but the last time I took it in the bastards were hitting me on mirrors ($250) and all kinds of shit..

Its also a PITA getting things fixed when you can't drive the F*ing thing anywhere.

Anywhere that does VA safety inspections can also do RVs.

I was told by one guy that it had to be able to fit inside their bay (this place did not have *big* bay doors and even my little RV probably would not fit)...

So it may be more of a physical size issue than actually who *can* do it. The RV is out in Haymarket so the closer to that I can get the better.

BTW, the storage I found was the Prince William County Fairgrounds and for a 21' RV its $65 a month + a yearly $10 sticker.. not bad.. But the vehicle has to be tagged and insured (which I am working on).

Some places might use that as a reason not to do the inspection. But you can definitely have inspections done outside of a bay. I have had a couple trailers inspected outside.

I used to go to a Shell station for inspections (car - never tried RV/trailer) at the intersection of Balls Ford Road and Sudley Road in Manassas. The guy that did the inspections was pretty quick and never nickle and dimed you.

If you feel like driving it into Herndon, I can tell you for sure that Elden Street Service Center will do the inspection.
