Sooooooooo, I was about to submit a resume to both companies for jobs they are advertising for and thought I would see if anyone works for them. I am assuming they have employee referal programs which pay you if you refer someone and they get hired.

I have a clearance and am way qualified for the jobs.

That said I figured I would see if anyone worked in either place and wanted to hook it up......I get a new job, you are compensated by the company, and they company gets a happy new worker bee.

Leslie

PS....Not sure if this is a stroke of genius or sad but figured it could not hurt to ask... Also, if this is inappropriate then Mods, feel free to pull this.

SAIC is notorious for underpaying its employees. Not giving jack for raises and working you to the bone on many projects. The benifits are good, health, education..etc. But my opinion is that once you get your initial offer for $$, dont expect to get much more after 4+ years working there.

Just my opinion bro, good luck!!

I contracted through SAIC to Kaiser Permanante when I was 20 doing Y2K stuff in California and they paid me insane amounts of money for what turned out to be me sitting on my ass chatting on IRC waiting for people to call me back.

It was great. Go SAIC!

Well I would prefer to actaully be doing something but if they insist on paying me insane amounts of money for little work I would just have to resign myself to that reality and deal.

Hey man, what up. Glad to hear some good things about them. Not trying to jump into a bad situation.

I'm with ya on that one. I've jumped into some bad shid once, I left after the 2nd day. Check out SAIC.com. Like all large companies you will have your shiddy managers and stuff, I guess I've just been blessed with some very down to earth and forth coming bosses in my time.

Yeah, you cannot avoid running into some a$$holes. I have been pretty lucky with the place I am at now....like I said, my Supervisor was at least willing to be unfront. He even said I can use him as a reference.

I will check out the sight man.

Yeah, dont get me wrong in saying it was all SAIC, just know about a couple specific projects at the tysons office. Big companies like that, you will get the whole range. If it turns out like i said, change w/in the company to another project. Its pretty easy to do so.

I've worked for SAIC for about 5 years and it's been the best company that I have ever worked for. Espically the contract that I am on right now the FCS contract is the place to be. I mean common they shelled out for 5 days in VEGAS for an off site meeting at the Mandalay Bay. As well as training classes in orlando at the Ritz Carlton. How can you say SAIC is a bad company?

And they don't underpay. As far as I'm concerned they over pay and you don't have to do much work. HAHAHA.. Well at least in the Software Engenering Department.
