There is so much truth to that statement. One dude trying to be a cheap ass is going to be the reason that a lot of other get busted.

Only surprise is that what happens at some of our foreign military bases and locations our Navy chooses to dock is never really reported.

OMG OMG guys were having sex with prostitutes in a country where prostitution is completely legal?!!

Big deal. If my job were to spend 24 hours a day thinking everything and everyone is a threat and my job is to literally walk into the path of oncoming bullets and be a human target, yeah, I'm going to get some stress relief trim on the side.

Again, did anyone care to mention prostitution is legal in Columbia?
And have you seen some of those Columbian girls?! G'wdamn.

it was "reported" that most of them were drinking heavily every day. *shrug

I guess the only issue i would have is that if they indeed were drinking heavily and their job was to secure the area a week in advance, i dont think the securing was being done very well.

again, not sure what they were really doing there. if it was just to pre-advance and then be ready for potus on arrival, shouldnt be an issue.

The article does say that prostitution is legal in the are. It also says the the code of conduct states that SS members are not to partake in those activities.

Your job is not limited to walking in front of bullets. Your job is also to present yourself and the employer you represent in the most positive light possible.

Prostitution isn't exactly legal everywhere in Colombia. It is tolerated in some special designated zones.

Yeah, yeah -- rules they're for your guidance only. I'm sure this is not the first nor will it be the last "activity while abroad" rule that has or will be broken. So long as you are mission capable and perform your roll without err, no problems from me with what you do with your limited free time so long as it doesn't bring shame to the country.

This Congressional dog and pony show, is just that, a dog and pony show.

Maybe the SS guy thought the girl just wanted to have a good time and he didn't know she was a pro. Happens all the time.

He meets girl at the bar or something, they have a good time, she turns around at the end and says "200,000 pesos please." WTF?

I have a neighbor who is apart of the Uniform Division so he might know. I need to hit him up and ask him.

You make it sound as if it's unusual for people to get fired for stupid behavior outside of their government or private workplace.

It's not.

People get fired all the time for doing stupid things. It turns out that very few employers want their employees to reflect poorly on their organization.

They've already got the area completely 3D modeled and mapped out. They know the best sniper vantage points before they've even arrived in the area through intel and satellite imagery with using the 3D models. Hell, they've also probably got this in a gaming engine to do "what-if" scenarios with everyone "playing"
