Shipping small items overseas - February 10, 2015, 05:37 AM

One of my daughters is in Ireland for the current semester and I need to get some small items to her, just an envelope if I can or a small package with crap she could buy herself over there if my wife has her way... Speed is not an issue although it would be nice if delivery could take <2 weeks. What's a good option for this? I've used usps, ups, and fedex online calculators and none of them are cheap to use.

USPS and FedEx are your best options.

USPS flat rate boxes. Should be $23 for the small flat rate box

Ok, I just wasn't looking closely enough when using the usps calculator. They've got the most expensive options open. You've got to actually click a header to see the first class/cheaper options. Thanks!

USPS International. I mail small stuff to friends and family members in the Caribbean, SA and Zimbabwe all the time.

Yes. You have to hit the additional options tab.

Also, a little secret.

Surprisingly, the rates tend to be cheaper by printing the shipping label via PayPal's USPS / UPS print ship service. It's free - unlike USPS Click-N-Ship monthly fee.
