Just curious .... seems to be moving away from talk about riding .... and heard a rumor that there's gonna be a new topic added that has nothing to do with riding.

I think it's alittle Bike Info and alot of Social. It's a place that we can get together with other people that we have things in common with. I go out with my horse friends but we don't always talk about horses. It's the same here. I think we go through this every year or two. Where everyone wants to eaither talk about riding or talk just socially. I don't really see a problem with either of these things, but I just don't want it to get out of hand. I watched .com go under and I don't want to see the same thing happen here.

Every time we hold our tongues instead of returning the sharp retort, show patience with another's faults, show a little more love and kindness, we are helping to stock-pile more of these peace-bringing qualities in the world instead of armaments for war. -- Constance Foster

Whoa...how weird...a few of us were having this discussion last night!

It's cool to have gatherings and meet people but since I joined I've seen more topics about hanging out than actual riding...fine but there are a few on here that have an extensive amount of knowledge that should be tapped. I consider myself a noob and there are so many aspects of the sport that could help new riders such as myself that are instead filled with group outtings and such which again is fine but it would be nice to see more topics related to riding or motorcycling.

Seems like anytime a topic is brought up about actual riding or discussions take place about street riding, racing or tracks people tend to shy away and I don't quite understand that. Personally, I think those topics are good ways of learning or at least bringing up aspects of motorcycling to think about.

I've met some really cool people because of the site so it's mission accomplished but I hope it doesn't turn into a strict social site.

Nice topic kimmy! See you down at VIR!

This site is about both. I would think people tend to go to these sites to find others who have the same interests in common. If you have these interests in common, you will most likely become friends with the person and then things become social. Being social in my mind means that you are discussing things of interest with another person, and getting together to enjoy someone's company and discuss such topics.

My thing about the topics of sport bikes is that its mainly about racing and track days which is great. I am more into riding and learning more about bikes in general, and don't follow racing (or any sport for that matter) however do enjoy watching such sports.

This site is great to meet people who you can learn from, and for the more experienced people, can teach others what they enjoy and give their specialized tips on riding and bikes in general.

It's a great place to complain during the Fall and Winter that its too cold to ride and it's so long until Spring and Summer. Then cry about it being too hot in the Spring or Summer to ride at all and can't wait until it cools down. I love it!
