Snowboarding - January 26, 2007, 10:35 AM

What is a good place to go within 2 hours of NOVA?

Basically lots and lots of down hills with tight turns. Higher the mountain the better. I know that all the places here prob use fake snow but that's ok with me as long as the mountain is fun.

I've been looking at the sites but you can't really tell what it's like from that.

Thanks!!

Just got back from Snowshoe in WVa on Monday...They get real snow but it's 4 hours away.

Also, try Wintergreen or Liberty - both close.

Ski Liberty sounds the best. Thanks.

Ditto...we just got back from Snowshoe last weekend and going back in 2 weeks. (But again it's a 4 hour drive)

Wisp, Liberty, and White Tail are all within a 2 hour drive. If you want a closer place go to Massanutten which is only 1-1.5 hour drive.

I can't get on that site at work.

I was looking for 1st hand knowledge on what the places were like. Like if one place offers more than the other. Or if one's more for skiers...

Thanks all.

And I've heard Snowshoe is awesome!!!!!! Maybe in two weeks but I want instant gratification..... The story of my life...

liberty is okay. I like White Tail a little bit more than liberty. it's maybe an extra 15 or so mintues beyond liberty, and worth it

If you've ever been sking/snowboarding STAY AWAY FROM LIBERTY. What a waste. 45 min to wait in line and take the lift and 20 seconds to get back down.

Why can't you get on that site at work? I own it. There should be no reason that you cannot get on it.

They are all like that. If you want longer runs you have to go to Snowshoe, Seven Springs or WIsp. ANd Wisp is even poopy too.
