What size is that pond? We had koi disappear before and we though it had to be a raccoon or something. Our koi were 16-18 inches long, and we weren't sure what could pull them out of the water.

Why not?

Story time...

When I was getting off active duty, I spent a few months living with amanda and Brooke with the in-laws. This was around the time you tried to get me a job where you're at. Anyways, Shortly before i got the gig with Stillie, there was this bird who thought their granite countertops were bird seed. So, it would sit on a branch near the kitchen window and relentlessly fly to the window, tap, fly back.

Fly

Tap

Fly

Tap.

Over and fucking over. It was annoying the shit out of my father in law. He handed me a real nice , high power pellet gun and said "You can shoot, right."

I went outside and found a good position, got in a stable prone, and waited. At the highest point in his flight, he hovered before tapping.

I took aim, squeezed off a shot, and snapped the bird's neck.

Amanda's view on the story is funny. SHe went into the kitchen to get coffee, oblivious to the situation. She looked out the window, saw the bird fluttering toward the window, and said "Oh, what a cute bir---- OH MY GOD!!!!!" as the bird took a pellet to the neck and fell to the ground , stone dead.

while you make a point. I dont feel it is necessary for this situation. I have a net to cover the pond. He will go elsewhere once he cant get the fish.

He is a fucking lazy bird. Right behind my house is a HUGE lake full of fish.

Its roughly 1000 gallons.

I had to reaim the camera. it was more focused on the deck.

He is taking the smaller fish. I have two that are 24 inches. The rest are in the 8-10 inch range.

My friend's dad kept complaining about his Koi disappearing; one day while drinking his morning coffee, he looks out and sees a Blue Heron standing in the pond having breakfast!

*Spud, he solved this by stringing thin fishing line across the pond; the birds would hit it, freak out and fly away. And you couldn't really see the fishing line.

Better than buying expensive meals for the local wildlife.
