Some Pics I took this weekend (NOT 56K friendly) - June 17, 2008, 07:04 PM

I have been drag racing for years and have never really had the opportunity to shot any of the racing because I am usually working on the cars. This past weekend I was giving full access and press credentials for the IHRA Presidents Cup race up at MIR. I had more fun shooting this weekend than I have had in the past years working on the cars. It was a great experience and a whole lot of fun. I did feel like a small fish in a real large pound being that it was my first time and there were so many great photographers there. They were all real nice to work with and we spent many hours laughing through the weekend.

If anybody has any constructive criticism on these photos please feel free to post it. I am new to all this and am looking for outside input on some of these pics. The night shots were very interesting to take. That night was the first time I have used anything other than the auto settings. It took some time to get the setting where I think they needed to be. It was kinda funny, not really knowing what all the setting did I kind of just took a pic and made a change took another pic and looked at what changes were made. I probably took 40-50 shots just trying to get the setting where I thought the were close. I also did not use a flash for any of those pics for the fact that the stock flash on my camera kinda sucks and doesn't recharge fast enough for action shots.

Again feel free to critic these pics.

Hope you enjoy
