So the government is going to spend tax payer dollars to keep people from recklessly killing themselves?

Who....gives....a....sh*t?

This sounds like a cleverly guised effort to put a chopper in the budget to chase speeders. Why bother.

How about start throwing the book at drivers that kill people in the process of "operating" their vehicle?

At least, in this current campaign, they're not claiming that their new jet helicopter is for motorcyclist safety.

Nope. Purely for revenue generation. But I will say it's a nice NOTAR chopper. I'm surprised most all new designs haven't gone with the no tail rotor design.

I remember catching the back-end of this on Friday. Who's the guy wearing the .Com vest?
Anyone remember him?

How much does it cost to fly a helicopter again?

Would there be much of a profit to fly it and whatnot if the only return is people paying speeding tickets?

Nothing I say is to be taken seriously.

You are confusing Maryland with a state that makes sound financial decisions

PG also has "Motorcycle safety enforcement zones," for example on route 50 heading towards Annapolis.

^ What do they do exactly?

A couple things in the video made me laugh
1. They list a figure that around 70% of fatal motorcycle accidents were the fault of the cager, yet they focus on deploying a chopper to catch speeders instead of educating the public

2. The representative of the motorcycle community they use as an ambasador for safety rides off with his helmet on top of his head.

I'm sure some of this increased enforcement stems from the PG County Officer who zigged when he should have zagged, ran into an SUV and killed two people when he was chasing a speeding sportbike on I-95 a few years ago.

They never caught the rider.
