Did you try a right-click\properties? Sometimes that'll tell about who they belong too. So much crap gets loaded it's hard to keep track.

the best way to avoid adware/spyware is to do the following..
ive formatted my PC... and QUIT using Internet Explorer, instead use mozilla firefox avaiable @ http://www.mozilla.org Its from the creators of the original netscape shell, its a wonderful fast, smooth browser with 99.9% error free...

why switch browsers? because firebird dosnt allow activeX, and it dosnt allow scripts to be run on your system, hense no pop ups, and no adware/spyware.. its a beautiful thing.. ive NEVER gotten a single pop since i did this, not a single one, and my system is always running smoothly.

and if you have a broadband connection this is even more important, cause IE is built into windows and allows scripts to be run when it isnt even open!!

just a suggestion, solved all my problems, and i suggest the same to you..

I installed Firefox. Microsoft is such a PITA.

The two previous weeks I was getting nailed by trojans, then spyware and pop-ups. All those spyware destroying programs didn't really help. I think they even added some BS programs. Reinstalling Windows and IE didn't help any either.

No problems now.

Thanks

I went to Mozilla Firebird years ago, and never looked back. Mozilla firefox (used to be firebird) is just too flippin sweet. Javascript debugger, DOM inspector, popup blocker, themeable, bla bla.... and none of the crappy IE bugs/exploits.

Oh, and if you're looking for spyware, use Lavasoft's Adaware REGULARLY. It is the best tool out there for scanning your system for spyware/ad software/popup software.

It is especially useful if one of your drunk roommates decides to download some crappy song off the internet one night and uses IE and clicks on all the popups that say "You MUST click Yes to download this song"....
