SRT 8 Charger - April 19, 2013, 09:34 AM

Anyone know where to get general service work done on my car? I moved here last week and have no idea where anything is. Someone reasonable. I don't want to pay dealership prices

SRT 8 has a timing belt? I'm pretty sure that thing has a chain but I go to K and B Auto at 414 South Van Dorn StreetAlexandria, VA 22304. They say they only do Japanese work but if you want a general check-up, you can call and see if they can take a look for you. The number is (703) 751-5070. They are the only ones that screw with my car other than me.

Seriously, this.

Look at it this way, labor rate for anything is $100/hr. You take your car for a 'checkup' and you will spend at least a $100 plus whatever parts & labor extra you authorize.

Instead, take $200, buy a Haynes manual for your car, a mechanic's tool set from Sears, and a jack some stands and a couple of torque wrenches from harbor freight and you can easily do 90% of your auto related work on your own.

Youtube is your friend and Im certain the SRT8 has a large online following with at least one heavily trafficked forum.
