Stationary Bicycle Recommendations - March 9, 2011, 06:06 PM

Any recommendations on brand / model of exercise bike? Looking to get one for my folks who have kind of a hard time on their feet, but they need some exercise. Maybe a recumbent style one would be nice?

Recumbent is going to be better as far as spinal protection goes. Try to get a used commercial piece. They will still outlast the retail pieces available for homes. Check with some of the gyms around you to see if they are looking to get rid of any.

I recommend a dedicated bike that fits their bodies, and an indoors trainer. Going this route will allow them to have a bike that fits them properly, and also allows them to pull the bike of the indoor trainers, and ride the bike outside too.

Quality sttionary bikes are expensive, if you are dead set on one, check the Giant Tempo:
