Sums up that last offensive play call. What in the entire fuck went through the Seahawks Offensive coach's mind. 2 yards from the Goal and you call a crossing slant pass play?

2 yards = QB sneak or Lynch punch it in. Secondary option, fade route to the corners.

If they had scored it would have been considered ingenious play calling since everyone expected Lynch to run it in. Either way it was a good game. This is how shit goes down sometimes.

They had a timeout still left....

Ingenious? I dont think so man, bold and gutsy sure. But not something to take a chance on when you have such a strong RB.

The playcall was fine. The throw was horrible.

Th entire world was expecting the Hawks to run it.. Beast Mode also got stuffed last time they were in the red zone.

If the pass was incomplete, they had plenty of time to try to smash it in on the next 3 plays.

But for fuck's sake, when you have a receiver running a short slant across the middle and a safety spying the route right in front of him, you don't lead the throw. Throw the ball right at his nuts, or even a little bit behind... That was a terrible pass.

No matter what the playcall was, you can't blame the coach for a turnover.

Also, the Hawks had a pretty good chance of getting a safety at the end, then they jumped. Was that the coaches fault too?

If they wanted an ingenious play call they could have run play action and snuck someone out in the flat. Instead he threw the ball in to the most congested part of the field with the accuracy of my girlfriend.

Bad play call and worse execution.

Here's an ingenious play...

Keep doing what got you into the Super Bowl.

Feed Lynch in short yardage.

Or at least split him out and drag the defense one direction, then bootleg and roll to the other before the shift and toss it to a dinky Offensive End cheating as a blocker but checked in as a eligible receiver.

But for gods sake don't throw it into the most congested part of the field.

I never said the playcall was great. It certainly wasn't ingenious.. But again, that crossing route over the middle wasn't the only route being ran on that play either.. That was just the only one Mr Wilson looked at.

You're one yard out have Beast Mode and one of if not the shiftiest qb in the league.... The Pats stacked the box and we're committed to stopping the run down the middle. Why not fake the handoff and have Lynch hit the line as if he has the ball while Wilson runs to the pylon.... Nobody is going to get to him before he crosses the plane. I HATE SEEING ANY SHITBAG TEAM from boston have success. I just have to think back and remember what it's like as a Giants fan to crush their dreams and hopes in 2007 and again to a lesser extent in 2011.

This.

Too much cliche Monday morning quarterbacking going on.

It was a great defensive play. Butler recognized the formation, he was beat on it just recently in practice. He had been coached up on it (from his interview). Give the rook credit

Patriots won the Superbowl more than the Seahawks lost it.

P.S. couldn't happen to a nicer guy

True.

You can't help but question the play calling near the end of the game when there was obvious dysfunction on the Seattle side. They burned 2 time outs because they couldn't get the play called.

They were offensively feckless in the second half.

One of the two teams was much better coached than the other.

I take some solace in NE's win knowing that Belicheat had to kiss his handsome daughter at the end of the game.
