Well, there was this one time when I worked for FedEx and the plane crashed. All I had was my watch and a Wilson volleyball...


Seriously, if you spend most of your time watching tv, then yeah, you will never need it. If you travel, or hike, you might. I used to have hundreds of feet of paracord that I cut off of old parachutes that were being DX'd. Over the years, I have used it up for one thing or another.
