Unhappy Swollen eyes - May 2, 2010, 07:13 PM

Well today has been another clueless day.. I have been going a week now wiu my eyes continuing to swell, I have gone to three doctors and none of them are sure what it is. They are red and itch sometimes and they ge crusty in the mornings. Now I know that sounds like pink eye and that is what I thought it was, went to doc on Friday she said it COULD be pink eye bu Ahwaz not sure went to another doctor saturday said there are no scratches on the eye and no metal in the eye( I was sanding a tool box the days before but kinda knew there was nothing in there, I hink I would have noticed right away if there was something in it). Went to an opthamolotist(spelling) today and he said it could be a really bad case of pink eye mixed with allergies( I have never had allergies) but he was not sure either O again I don't know what is causing my eyes to swell right now the whites of my eyes are swollen to be higher then my pupils this shit sucks and keeps geting worse. The only thing I keep thinking is that if I loose my vision I can never ride again let's hope it never comes to that. Doc is going to call me in the morning and see if it gets any better but I doubt it drops army working but stop the burning and benedryl does nothing.

Get better doctors.

Start with the most obvious solution and work back from there.

Swollen and crusty usually indicates a bacterial infection of some sort. Antibiotic drops.

If that does not help, then you are looking as some sort of irritant. An anti inflammatory drop should get your body's reaction in check.

In the meantime, I would go to CVS/store and get an eye wash and do it a bunch of times to flush out any contaminents that might be trapped inside the socket. It is important to flush around and move your eye in 360 degrees to get the irritants moving around and hopefully out.

Get yourself to Washington Eye Center. They have some of the best Opthamologist and Optomologist in the country.

They gave me some antibiotic drops that do nohing and some eye lubricant drops which help when my eye lids scrape across the swollen part of my eye. But that is it. I guess I can try the anti inflamatory drops but I thought if they would have worked the docs would have prescribed them to me. I don't know what it is I just want it gone my eyes are still swelling. Tomorrow morning the doc is going to call me and I will se what he says. Thanks for all the help and concern. Oh and might I add that they are military hospitals that I went to.

Take some used teabags and put them over your eyes when they cool down. It should at least help with the swelling.

I had a similar thing happen in boot if turned out to be a sinus infection that was jacking up my tear ducts. It took near three weeks for them to figure it out.

Tried motrin benadryl atibiotic drops eye lubrication drops staying inside laying in bed cool compresses on the eyes nothing seems to work. This morning I woke up and both eyes are equally as bad( my left used to be worse then my righ now they are both swollen)to where the whites stick out past my iris. This is stupid. He whites of my eye are huge and the outside of my eyes are swollen like rocky vs Apollo.
