T +6 days in AL..... - August 12, 2013, 10:40 AM

3 more wonder filled days in NoVA and then we are out! Been a good time in the area and it is time for us to move on. I have met some good peoples on this community and will continue to be a non-riding member, well I ride, just not socially (I don't like coffee from starbucks).

If anyone does travel down south, there will be more in the Huntsville area now. Looking forward to the new backroads and dirt trails in the southern Appalachia.

Later --- Mike

Huntsville, Alabama?

Short term rental in Hampton Cove for now, have not decided on that area or up in Harvest/Monrovia. Will depend on what we find and really like. The 2 school districts are on par with each other, but we don't want the kid to have to change schools too much. Will have to meet up with you over the weekend.

Word.

We'll be down in the Hampton Cove area on Saturday to meet up with a pool company from about 2-3. We love the Providence Main area up off University just to the west of Research Park Blvd. Couple good restaurants and live outdoor bands on Saturday's. Also, Bridge Street Town Center just down the street from there is cool. Open air mall, similar to the outlet mall in Leesburg, but with more restaurants.

Update. No, have not started the alsb.net website yet. All our shit arrived, most of it in the same condition it was packed in. Small hiccup in movers, but they resolved it agreeably, so a plug for bayshore movers, they did a great job.

We found a house, close sept. 20th. Once we move in, then I get to start work on the garage updates.

Woke up to a beautiful sun shining day and expect to go ride. Bikes are in great shape, have all my gear, except my helmets are in a box, one of 80 identical boxes in the storage garage. Fffffaaaaiiiilllll.

Ah, but there is my kayak and fishing tackle, something to do.

Good morning Alabama!!

So what's in AL that made you move? The Castle's moved there too as we all know. Are you guys keeping the same job and just relocating or did you start over? I wouldn't mind leaving NOVA but it would be hard for me to walk away from my fed gov job.
I figured I'd work my 30 then bug out to AZ. Life is short. I might have to reduce that to working my 10, then bug out.

I moved because of an opportunity to change careers but stay with the same company. I get to do some interesting work for a new client. This position just happened to be in Huntsville, and my family has been looking to relocate out of the Metro DC area for a while, the area was just not sitting well with either of us or our daughter. This came up and I jumped on it. Honest that Huntsville was not on our radar, we were looking further west (CO, AZ, N. TX). We researched the area, determined it would be a good move and did it.

So far, so good. Quiet, the people are nice, the views are tremendous, the weather is great (so far, we have been warned that this weather is abnormal), school systems are highly rated. Mountains, mountains, and mountains. Rivers, lakes, caves, nature preserves, mountains.

Places to ride are numerous, I have already found places that I can legally just pull off the side of the main road and hit a dirt trail to take me up the mountain - not Hatfield-McCoy trail, but still good stuff.

You need to GPS some serious rides for us to come down there!!! Like, 60-100 miles a day.

Oh yeah, I think your moving improved our house values in AssBurn.

I want my baby back, baby back, baby back....Chileeeeee's bay back...
