Even if you are lazy, go to www.ruger.com and with just a few clicks, they will email all your reps for you. Its really simple and I would encourage everyone to pass this on to as many friends and family members as they can.

I've sent letters to all my reps lately

Fuckers sent back form letter that didn't even address my subject

Meanwhile, they just extended ex president security from 10 years to life. That ought to help our debt. Meanwhile they still can't pass a budget

I'm fucking done with it at this point. Let them vote for bans and confiscation . I'll hole up at my house and laugh in glee as the shitstorm starts

I Agree and share your frustrations. I still believe if enough voices are heard it only gives the ones that have our backs more motivation to fight for what's right.

I read this earlier this week with a breathtaking shock and a "GTFOWTBS" look on my face.
Not only does every President now receive lifetime round the clock protection, every child receives it through age 16 even if the parent is no longer in office.

Obama & Co.:
- Gives himself and his family armed protection for life.
- Wants to strip and restrict the arms of private citizens, of which, he will be once his term ends.

My position: I will allow Obama and all other Presidents life long security so long as his security detail is only allowed to arm themselves with revolvers, handguns with magazines under 11 rounds, shotguns, and bolt action hunting rifles with attached magazines under 6 rounds, the same as Feinstein and Biden by proxy Obama are advocating for citizens.

No PDWs, no full auto, no "military style" assault rifles, and he can't wear body armor in states that ban body armor in the hands of citizens unless the purchase was made face-to-face.

Deal?

I believe that to be fair and just. If the assertion is that security for life is needed due to the possibility of criminal assault, then as a private citizen he ought to be made to defend himself with the same tools he intends to regulate and authorize for every other US citizen.

Here's the direct link to the web form: Ruger - Take Action Now!

Point of order - a Republican introduced the bill, sponsored by both sides of the aisle. This was to amend changes done in 1994 (under Pres. Bill Clinton). This wasn't Obama just giving himself protection for life on a whim. It covers Bush 41, Clinton, Bush 43, and the next President and Presidents for years to come.

And before anyone jumps down my shit... I filled out the e-mail message form from Ruger. I hope Congress thinks through what they're proposing, but it certainly seems like a lot of speculation as to what they'll do.

Presidential protection is a separate issue. We shouldn't leave former Presidents unprotected. Guess we'll have to elect older ones, to save a few bucks! But really, we have only a handful of ex-presidents alive at any given time. How many battleships could you buy with the $ it will take to protect them? A small fraction of one. I've got to admit I was shocked when President Nixon and I literally bumped into each other at National Airport in the late 80s, and there was no-one with him! There was a car waiting outside for him though.

No

First of all, ex presidents tend to have a lot of money. There's no need for the taxpayer to foot the bill

Second, fuck them for spending ANY time or money on this when we are so ridiculously in debt

And, they're ex presidents.

They return to their previous status as citizens, and should not be any more entitled to protection than the public they served. The idea that this fuxking guy will get lifetime protection as he seeks to take YOUR protection away should be appalling to you

This.....fuck em, they had their time as the head dick, now they are a normal schmuck that can pay for their own damn security. Why the fuck should I have to pay for them? Give me one legit reason as to why I should foot the bill to protect someone that is out of office?
