Thank you VDOT - October 20, 2006, 11:49 AM

Everyday I drive or ride across RT17 between 50 and 66. VDOT taken it upon themselves to waste our money yet again. They have installed 4 radar your speed is signs. These are not he protable ones they are permenant. One mile over the flash your speed in bright yellow. 6 over you get a bright red SLOW DOWN flashing at you. I have yet to behind anyone who has changed their speed because of these signs.

One last thing. Watch yourselve enter 66 west from 234 bypass. There is a 2 to 3 inch difference in the pavement. Bad thing is that it parallel to the accelleration lane. I almost ate it last night in the rain.

Dude, SERIOUSLY.
Why is the speed limit SO low on that part of 17?!
There are, what, 10 houses on that road and maybe 4 cross streets in 9 miles?!

In the winter, in the snow, in the wind, it can be dangerous. The rest of the year, it's a beautiful, straight road. WTF, over.

Thanks for the heads up, though. argh.

Hey when is VDOT going to start grading the curves to try to slow down the bikes? Shit why not just rip up all the pavement and go back to horse and buggy!

Last night coming home from the spot, I decided to use worldgate to cut over from elden st...
<cue big guy singing> MIIISSSTTTTAAAKKKEEEEE!

rain + the entire road being milled away (and apparently the guy running the mill was either drunk or on drugs, because the channels weaved...and were going the opposite of the road curve in most cases) = SUCK!

was able to get through it, but there was a rut dug in for a ways that was unpleasant
