DrnkyMnky13 (or something like that) I believe is the resident AmTrak expert.

But, Bolt Bus - $40 round trip, cannot be beat.

If I can't get a reasonably priced ticket on the Acela, then I opt for this.
It gets me to Penn Station in about the same time as the normal Amtrak Metroliner would for 1/3 the cost round trip.

There isn't really a "hookup". If you were with an employee they could usually get you on the train. But AMTRAK doesn't have buddy passes or anything like that to give people. Nor do they give discounts for friends and family.

We used to get people on all the time. But they have really been cracking down on it. Not worth the job risk.

If you really prefer the train over the bus... go at off peak times. You can get fairly cheap prices on the conventional speed trains.

Sorry man. Wish I could hook you up.

Then again... That's just me.

On the internet... Everyone is an expert.

And now...The dancing Banana:
