Angry Thieves are straight up A$$HOLES! - February 2, 2007, 06:59 AM

So I get up this morning to go to a 630 meeting. I get in my car around 515. Look over at my Van and the passenger window is busted out. So immediately I think it was the cold and ice that did the damage. Ive seen windows busted out by the heat so I assume cold and ice can do it too. Then I see it...well more like I didn't see it.

Some bastard stole my GPS. Son of a Bitches!! Some crack head ass passes up my wife's purse which is sitting between the driver and passenger seat to get a flipping GPS. What bugs me more is that the alarm on my van was still armed. WTF! over.

Guess I'll be camping out on ebay for the next couple of days. Can someone tell me why people take shit that isn't theirs?

Watch the news more.
http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/20...ar-theft_x.htm

NBC 4 did a story about this earlier this month. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16670490/

Don't want something stolen? Remove it from the car. Out of sight, out of mind. The same goes for bikes.

Your alarm didn't sound because they never tried to OPEN the van. Without a glass breakage sensor or a proxcimity alarm you're screwed unless they try to steal the car.

Sorry this happened to you bro!! It sucks!

Dont bother with ebay either. People with enough sense to create a listing don't steal shit from cars usually. That thing is heading into the city to some dudes corner table.

Poor people in Ethiopia don't have nice things to steal. You should be grateful you did!

Congrats on being lucky enough to be stolen from!

I'd start questioning your neighbors.

My neighbor had his house robbed yesterday. They climbed his deck, went in through the slidding doors, and then took his plasma and two Kenneth Cole wrist watches out the front door. You love this part. A neighbor's dog started barking at the man as he scaled the deck. A neighbor looks out, sees the guy and reportedly, "didn't recognize him" so shrugged and went back inside. No police were called. No one was approached.

The one thing that really pissed me off was when we called PWC police the operator asked if we wanted a patrol car to come out.

No I just called to say my car was broken into and to have a good morning. WTF!

Hfam, my heart actually breaks for you. I started a thread about how I'm afraid of my neighborhood. Part of that fear comes from all the cars broken into lately.

Back in November about 6 cars had their driver's side windows smashed at the Horner Road Commuter lot (although it's off Telegraph and PW pkwy).

Mid December my vanpool returned to the same lot to find a car on the end of a lane in plain view of ANYone driving through the lot had all four tires and rims removed. The owner returned from work and found his car resting on a rubber tire and a car jack. Car didn't look very expensive, either.

About 2 weeks ago another rash of windows smashed out got one of our vanpool members. His car was only a year old, but he had nothing visible and nothing was stolen. There was nothing TO steal, but they knocked out his passenger-side window, anyway. It will be at least $200 to have it replaced, he said.

Oh, and PWC had parked a decoy vehicle in the lot just across from where all this has happened. These guys are pretty fearless, it seems.

I don't know if other areas of the lot are plagued with problems, but I've been parking a little farther from that area since then.

Anyway, you're far from alone in this.
