Ticket Technicalities? - August 3, 2009, 09:31 PM

Got a ticket in DC for not wearing a seatbelt by a cop on a Segway, haha. The charge is legit since, well, I wasn't wearing a seatbelt. However, on the bottom of the ticket where I am supposed to sign to "acknowledge receipt" of the ticket, he never told me to sign. I am not trying to get out of the ticket but am just wondering if that is enough of a technicality to get the charge thrown out? I can't seem to find any info

In theory, I guess, you could always say that you never signed for or received a ticket......?

Right up the 1 hole.

Unfortuneately, whatever scheme you can think of probably wont work as long as the ticketing officer is in the court room. Even if you didnt sign the ticket, you have the knowledge that you have the courtdate, you know what the infraction was, etc...

Were you driving or sitting at a light....? That can be your way out of this ticket...

Anyone else see the massive contradiction in this sentence?

Doubt it will be enough man. Good luck though!

Actually he said I rolled through a stop sign and was pulling me over for that when he noticed I wasn't wearing it. I was literally going 500 ft. from the grocery store to the cop shop. Sigh.
