Dont work at a dealer, but I love my 2007 Tacoma. When you get one, make sure you get the rear suspension TSB done, look it up, you and your truck will thank you for it. If you are buying new the dealer will try to tell you the 09s aren't included, call Toyota Corp direct and get a case number before going in, you'll be glad you did.

Whats up with the Toyota TSB? I have an 06 Tacoma, absolutely love it!

Is that the recall stuff? Upgraded leaf springs in the back?

TSB can be downloaded here: http://www.divshare.com/download/5526807-ce1

read up on it.

in a nutshell, the 05-09 tacos were sold deliberately undersprung to give them a softer ride, this made them unstable when loaded.

The fix is new 4 leaf rear packs instead of 3 leaf packs and upgraded shocks on non-trd trucks.

I LOVE how my truck feels now with the new suspension, much more sturdy than before, especially under load.

Guidelines:
bump stops must have evidence of touching the frame(goto homedepot and borrow some sand, tons of people did that)
be under the factory 36k warranty or platinum extended warranty.
Must be a 4x4 or prerunner.

One more tip: Make sure you get the alignment print out to verify your truck has been aligned for free after the procedure, I have heard of a lot of instances where dealers are just test driving the truck after the swap and letting go of the wheel to verify alignment. Alignment must be done front and rear after the swap.

Non-TRD models(like mine) get all 4 new shocks, rear springs, and alignment.

TRD models get new rear springs and alignment. (already have the upgraded shocks)

one more thing, plenty of people have gotten this done outside of warranty, so it's worth the shot, so many dealers have done this fix that all you need to say to a service manager is you want the rear suspension tsb done and they will know what you're talking about. Got mine done at Westminister Koons Toyota(where I bought my truck).
