Trailer registration? - June 24, 2019, 04:38 PM

Does anyone know if for a small motorcycle trailer Virginia issues a life time plate? As I understand, everything else is similar to a car in terms of title/tax and all.

Appreciate any other advise or input before I acquire one for hauling motorcycle.

Thanks.

I think they do. I have lifetime plates on all of our trailers.

Yes,the lifetime plate, title and personal property tax are there. You also have to do annual inspections if you have trailer brakes.

One last thing, do I have to buy insurance separately for it or it would be covered by the vehicle which is pulling it?

No insurance needed. If you had some big deal stuff going on you would probly want to look into an umbrella policy but for basic stuff, your current insurance is fine.
