Transformers 2 shooting at Dulles Air & Space Museum - June 6, 2008, 08:22 AM

Got this off a Transformers blog - the days dont reflect the proper date, but has anyone heard anything about it?

Smithsonian Air and Space Museum
Production's location is the Smithsonian Air and Space Muesum. The schedule is June 5 to Sunday June 6. The cast will include Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, John Turturro and Ramon Rodriguez. Based on the scenes it appears they are hunting for something Decepticon related at the museum after hours involving the SR-71 Blackbird (with a Decepticon insignia) that is there.

There is also a mention of "Splinter". I am not sure if that is a TF or an Autobot artifact for the film. As someone in the comments noted, this could be the piece of the All Spark that Prime removed from Megatron at the end of the movie.

SR-71 Blackbird, number one on my all time favorite plane list. Didnt hurt when I found out my uncle procured a lot of the titanium that went in to making the last few that were ever made, he works out of Wright-Pat, and he even let me walk up and touch the plane they have on display when I was like 9 or 10.

that's sweet. there are definitely advantages to growing up in the military...namely the air force. i think i've got as much cockpit time as any non qualified human being does! used to climb all over those jets as a kid! http://youtube.com/watch?v=VLIcUCY_BM4

Was there any other info about other locations they're shooting at? Something was filming in my neighborhood last night and I wanna know what it was!

The dates match up if it was supposed to say July.

transformers was filming in pennsylvania this week, so they probably aren't down here at the same time, so July sounds more righter.

I interned for the Air and Space museum restoration facility during college, so I got to play around with a bunch of those planes in the dulles center now, especially the Enola Gay, which I did a lot of work for.

It's ridiculous how many planes they have tucked away in a big warehouse facility in suitland, most of them still not restored, so a lot of the WW2 planes still have bullet holes, scorch marks, etc. it's too bad they stopped giving tours of that place becasue most of the restoration operations moved form there to Dulles.
