It gets the wallet equivalent of 180mpg! ($2 to go 125 miles)

so it's a giant air hog?

How does reliance on compressed air make it different than an electric car? You still have to use energy to compress the air, and I doubt it would be as effecient as an electric motor at turning that potential back into kinetic energy, plus no regenerative braking.

I'll let an even bigger calculate how much energy it would take to compress 340 liters of air at 4350 psi, and if it's actually any better than a typical electric car. (this has Birdman all over it).

What I hear is I can get a $12.5k car that costs me $2 to go 125 miles on existing infrastructure. Can electric beat that?

They showed this on the science channel the other day... along with all kinds of alternative energy cars.

Saw one on TV that had solar panels on the roof which powered an air compressor which then sent the compressed air to the engine. When not running, it would store the compressed air in large tanks.

Cost to fuel the van was NOTHING (as long as the it got enough light).

It could also store enough electricity to get it through limit night time driving.
