Thumbs up Tyson vs. Kimbo - May 17, 2008, 03:42 PM

http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/news?slu...yhoo&type=lgns"

Who do you think would win?
Kimbo, IMO.

Maybe Iron Mike would have had a shot, back the day.

hmn, Tyson was beast in his prime with world class boxers... Kimbo is beast beating up street guys, is average at best with average MMA talent.... This would be a good fight, but I see Tyson taking this one, sorry, but he might be too far off from fighting but with a good training camp he can get some of that back. Kimbo hasn't fought anyone notable....

Kimbo does not have a glass jaw. Tyson gets rocked after a few solid shots.

What do you base this on? Getting punched by a bunch of nobodies with no training is a lot different than getting punched by Lennox Lewis. No one Kimbo ever got punched by had even the 1/4 power of Lennox's punch. Not to mention any fighting skill - all the backyard fights are against a bunch of fat bouncers.

Kimbo is a marketing gimmick, and he will 'fade into bolivion' within the next 2 years, when he realizes that fighting on youtube is different from fighting in the cage.

The new Heavyweight Champ Peters is pretty tough.

I think he would win.

Tyson in his prime probably wouldve lost to Peters.

I think Kimbo would beat Tyson.

I find it hard to believe that this will ever happen...Tyson is a has-been now. He's done. He'd be stupid to step foot in the octagon with Kimbo...its suicide.

In Tyson's prime, Kimbo would be counting stars. I remember sitting with my grandfather and watching a Tyson fight many moons ago. He said Tyson was damn good and he had seen 50 years of boxing.

Either way street fighting, is a whole lot different than squared circle boxing.
Bare knuckles is bare knuckles. When do you think the last time Tyson got into a all out street fight. But Tyson is crazy, and ugly thats a combo you never want to fight.

its not a fight. if they go w/ MMA rules, Kimbo will kill Tyson only because Tyson is a boxer. If they go Boxing rules its more evenly matched, but Tyson hasnt fought in how long? that and what state will let Tyson fight? Not to many. it would be over quick, and quite boring in my book. when big guys fight it turns in to them just trading punches . shit, they might as well fight by boxing rules, neither of them throw kicks, they may fight dirty w/ some elbows, and i cant really see either one going for a submission. its all a publicity stunt to blow up Kimbo's name and make Tyson a quick buck to pay off lawyers for what ever kind of trouble he's in now.

tysons no punk. i met him several times, hung out with him a little, and have good friends that served time with hime - over a year. hes just a regular guy who takes shit personally, and is a fighter, and hes honest. thats a formula for someone to be picked on by the media, and it pisses him off immensely. if the world was picking on you, and you were a fighter, not a pansy, you would get irritated as well.
