Ultra Music Festival

The World’s most famous outdoor electronic music event, is held annually in Miami, Florida during March, coinciding with the Winter Music Conference.
This legendary festival has won “Best Music Event” by the International Dance Music Awards (IDMA) in 2009, 2008, 2007 & 2005, “Best International Dance Music Festival” by the Ibiza DJ Awards in 2008 and “Best Festival” by the Village Voice Media New Times in 2009, 2008, 2007 & 2006.
UMF Miami 2009 set a new record with more than 85,000 party people in attendance over two days, coming to Ultra from 56 countries & territories, 50 states and Puerto Rico.

Originally created as a pure EDM (electronic dance music) festival in 1999, Ultra has grown through the years to present not only the World’s hottest, biggest and best headline EDM artists (The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Tiesto, Underworld, MOBY, Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox, Paul van Dyk, David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren, Erick Morillo, Deadmau5 and Paul Oakenfold, to name a few), but also crossover headline bands that incorporate EDM elements in their music and have a history, or new beginning in the EDM community and culture (The Cure, The Killers, The Black Eyed Peas, Bloc Party, The Bravery).

Music

UMF expanded to a 2-day festival in 2007 and now boasts 16 stages set over both days featuring more than 250 bands, DJs, artists, and producers.
Every EDM genre and sub genre is represented at Ultra (house, trance, electro, indie-rock, dance rock, techno, drum & bass, breakbeat, alternative, minimal, big beat, jamtronica and more…).

I really want to go down to the Winter Music Conference this year. Always end up trying to get plane tickets too late. My brother actually lives in South Beach, so I should stop slacking.

Been to WMC a few times. 04 and 06. Good times. If you haven't booked a room or flight yet, forget it - there's nothing to be had in the area for less than some ass rape numbers.

You may get find some rooms further up North Miami but then you'll need a car and there's really no parking in and around SOBE when this is happening.

Music wise, yeah - you'll be partying the night away. Redbull usually has the biggest and best parties followed by M3.

If you like artsy / euro kinda women or latinas, you'll do no better than being here.
You'll find the latinas at the Deep House sessions and anywhere Masters at Work is spinning. Euro girls just about anywhere else or at that peaky eurohouse stuff.

The party favor of choice is ecstacy and coke - have some of this and you'll quickly make lots of female friends.

Go to Wal-Mart and buy a case of water, keep it in the room. Bring a few with you because stores will often run out for the day. Redbull is ubquitous and free.

The weather in Miami around the time this jumps off is PERFECT.
High 70 degree days, 60-something degree nights.

Miami Latinas > Wheaton/Gaithersburg.

Do you rent them.
I know a few people that were considering going this year but they were getting butt shanked by the hotels on pricing.
