United Flight 662 From Denver To Dulles Airport Emergency Landing after passenger pra - November 8, 2012, 09:37 PM

Emergency Landing Declared After Passenger Prays In Aisle | wusa9.com

what a retard...

STERLING, Va. (WUSA) -- A pilot declared an emergency landing after a passenger prayed in the aisle of an airplane on the way to Dulles Washington International Airport, officials said.

The flight, from Denver to Dulles, landed safely 13 minutes earlier than its scheduled 9:10 p.m. time, after the pilot made his announcement.

The Boeing 757 aircraft got a military escort back to Dulles, after the call came out just before 9:00 p.m. All passengers in board the plane were allowed to de plane except for the one person who was the disorderly person.

Police and EMS escorted the disorderly man off the plane. He was handcuffed and placed in the back of a police cruiser. Tweets on this topic speculated that the man experienced some kind of emotional/menrtal problem.

That would explain why I heard two F-16s screaming over Fair Lakes at 8:53.

Cant pray on a plane? lol

No idea why anyone would to go into the isle to pray when a seat works just a good.

Stupid on the man's part, stupid on the crew's part. A simple conversation should have cleared this up on both sides.

On second though as long as this wasn't during departure/landing or at another time when everyone is required to sit in their seat I don't see this being a problem at all. I see folks get up and stand in the isle for a few minutes just to get off their arse for a few minutes and then sit back down. I smell a law suit and hope he wins.

Ah, that's what that noise was. I thought "Oh shit. Is a plane about to crash?"

I agree. I can see a lawsuit coming. However given America's post-9/11 paranoia nothing is ever taken lightly. Would any one of us taken it lightly if you were on that plane and witnessed this nutball step into the isle and started praying? I think I probably would've administered an ass kicking (just my opinion). and yes I would've gone to jail for assault.. but I'd rather be alive, in jail and wrong then dead and right.

What a bunch of pussy douche bags flying that plane. That's not any sort of emergency. It's just a fucktard wanting attention.

If I saw that shit, I'd keep my eye on him, but that's about it. Not much different than the weird shit you see in the subway.

Maybe they should teach the flight attendants some krav, etc. They obviously need to be more confident up there.

Certainly I would have watched what the guy was doing and probably picked up some kind of improvised weapon (pen, crochet hook, knitting needle, etc) and been ready to act should the need arise.

I think americans are just pansies though -- not enough of our civilian population has any kind of military background -- they don't stand up for themselves and certainly not others. I can understand why it would bother people but I really don't see a threat.

pansies for erring on the side of caution?
It's safer than sorry.. it's easy to call them pansies if you weren't there.

So Americans are pussies for over-reacting, but you suggest that military training will teach us to stand up for ourselves? wha?

He got what he deserved; everyone is keenly aware that Americans are overly-sensitive now about odd behavior on a plane - and that is warning enough to handle yourself conservatively while traveling.

pansies for declaring an emergency because some guy felt the urge to pray -- yes absolutely.

From the few details we have we know that none of the passengers over-reacted because no one else was arrested. I'm not saying that anyone should have over-reacted.

One guy praying isn't a threat -- if he stood up and charged the cockpit or assulted someone or claimed to have a bomb then there would have been a threat. Calling in F-16s for an escort was an over reaction for sure.

And yup... pick 100 random people and the majority are pansies that won't stand up for themselves much less a stranger.
