Well at least you are still able to access the internet. My brother just went back to Iraq last month, and apparantly it costs too much for troops there to have internet access. If he wants to get online, he has to pay $2500

I havent been able to access those since the new regulations came out banning youtube, google video, myspace, etc, but now all other streaming media is blocked, and looks like they are blocking other recreation sites as well.

Odd, I have 3 buddies over there right now who are on IM regularly. One is using MWR now but prior to that he had networked a satellite connection they purchased prior to deployment.

There ways around all of this....not sure the legality of it based on whatever security documentation you signed when you started working about computer usage- but if you all are desperate for youtube and myspace and such try a proxy

Even when it came into play, we got lucky and our IMO never blocked the sites until just last week, so we were rockin vids until then.

Yep. I can't remember which one was recommended, but a marine friend from quantico has been using it since last year and allows you to access any site being cloaked by the parent proxy site.
