Why does a one year old car need an emissions inspection?!?!? Just another way to rip more money out of ya. And it's not just $14, you have to include the time off of work to stand in line, come out here and watch these clowns hook up an OBD scanner.

Three more cars before it's my turn.

Think I've only been twice now and my car is 5 years old (2005 model). Odd unless you're registered across the river.

You at the gheytheresburg one?

re-occurring revenue stream.

simple.

welcome to the commonwealth. wait till you get hit with your "car tax". You know, the tax you will pay every year based on the state's opinion of how much your car is worth to them, not actually what it's worth on the street. Nevermind that you ALREADY paid taxes on it when you BOUGHT it the FIRST TIME.

can't wait to hit my goal and GTFO of here.

Car tax is getting phased out. Slowly. But you know, whatever, it gets me fresh asphalt every now and then.

right, you keep believing that. I remember coming back from a tour and voting for a guy in the late 90's who ran for office on the ticket that he would ABOLISH the car tax by the end of his "first" term. He was elected, and that was in the late 90's.

how does that kool-aid taste?

My total vehicle taxes surpassed 4 digits this year. again.

damn it hurts a little to be a gangster.

While I was in school in IL, I purchased my bike there, and paid sales tax there. When I brought it back this year, I was told I would still have to pay sales tax again to register it in MD.

pay sales tax twice?

lol, the tax just isn't hurting enough yet for me to bitch about it. I'm trying to remember... I think it was in the neighborhood of like $50 for my bike and my car... That said, if there will be a tax, it ought to be a flat tax than a value-based one....
