Rumor mill was saying the 9th, but Verizon hasn't even offically announced the phone. Can come out anyday. New rumored date is the 13th.

As far as specs, it will be top notch, Android wise. I also have the OG Droid and mine is on the last leg as well. Whenever they drop this thing I'm buying it no questions asked.

Compared to other Android's cuz the Iphone is still more advance. with their lower resolution screen, slower cpu, slower GPU. Any new android has more in the line of hardware over the iphone. Software, well that's preference.

Here we go with this...

Not going to argue sides, but this a comparison of the two Head to head: Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the iPhone 4S | Android Central

That article is a little light on actual technical comparisons... probably because its on an Android site

It's supposed to be the best(ish) upcoming phone. Its specs have even tempted me to jump iPhone ship, but I'm gonna wait to see how it fares with battery life on VZ's network.

I also hate jumping to US-only CDMA.. bleh.

The specs mean nothing. The galaxy tab has the same processor. Look at the results...

Tests show iPhone 4S as fastest phone on the market

galaxy tab 8.9 has a 1ghz 4430 processor, not a 1.2 ghz, underclocked, 4460 processor (that can easily do 1.5ghz)

and next year you'll have the galaxy note ... quad core, 28nm processor that draws 60% less power than current dual cores.

this year, actually, marks the 'end' of the shitty battery life phones

I doubt it. Manufacturers and idiot consumers keep cramming "features" in. As soon as battery tech improves, they'll add a goddamn microwave or some shit
