depending on the phone you may not to easily watch the vids on any other device than your celly. I had some vids on my phone and I had to send them to my email, convert them using Free Video Converter - Any Video Converter Free Version - convert video to any formats, avi to MPEG, avi to MP4, flv to MPG then join them together with MS video maker.

Yup. What he said.

If your phone came with a CD, chances are there is some type of conversion program on that CD. You'll need to convert to something that Windows Movie Maker can recognize ... like .avi or .wmv.

Converting can be a pain.

If your phone records at less than 640x480 then you may lose quality when you edit in Movie maker.

Droid X...so hopefully I'm not anticipating any issues...

I just needed to know which software to use that would be ....ahem Free.

I hope I don't have to convert anything...usually converting sucks.

I'll try it out....

I think the phone records at 720p

A phone at 720p hd would not record very much at all.

Plug it in toyour computer, odds are a dialogue box pop up recognizing it as external hd, explore and open dcim folder; copy to hd and use whatever sharware program you like.

VirtualDubMod | Download VirtualDubMod software for free at SourceForge.net

Open first file, click arrow pointing to right to go to last frame of first vid. File --> append segment, select next video, repeat. When you're done save as Direct Stream Copy.
