VIDEO - VA Beach ... and Blue Angels - 20 SEP 08 - September 22, 2008, 01:05 PM

Family stuff ... but, kinda fun ... so, I post ...

Spent 2 days at VA beach with the family. First day was cloudy, windy, and cold. We couldn't do much at the beach, so we went to see the airshow at Oceana Naval Air Station ...

The Blue Angels were there ... but it was the FA-18E/F Superhornet that stole the show ... AWESOME.

Sunday, the weather was nice and we got some sun.

Thks, all.

It was pyrotechnics ... to go along with the "fake" bombing run. It was sick. The reason you see the camera pointing at my feet is becuase when it went over, it scared me so bad, I was fixin to grab the kids and RUN ... LOL.

... then I quick got the camera back up and started filming again. D'oh.

do you record to dv and then capture? or are you recording directly to a built in hard drive?

Record to mini-DV tape ... then output to PC using Firewire ... and edit.

Key is not to use ANY compression.

Almost all these new recorders use MPEG-4 ... junk.

NTSC-DV is the way to go (if you ask me).

that's what i do as well, just thought i'd ask! i enjoy your vids and the simplistic feel they have. nowadays people try to compensate for their lack of editing skills with piling on the 'effects'. keep up the great work!

You are using some kind of different lens it looks like... there's almost a fisheye affect going on in some of those shots (esp. B52)

Yup.

I have a wide angle and a macro lens that I carry around in my pocket. Put them on for some of the shots.
