Virgina Gun owners under attack. - December 22, 2015, 08:09 AM

To all my Virginia loving friends! LAW abiding gun owners are being punished by the anti-gun bought Governor and Attorney General. Out of the 30 states that allow reciprocity with VA about CHP the AG is going to remove 24 of them. This is outrageous! This is an action by the Bloomberg bought political puppets. You have to get out and vote next time they come up for election and also contact your representative or delegate. Please share!

(804)786-2071 - This is the number to Mark Herring's office.

Also The Gov has banned guns, made gun free zone for criminals, from certain state run office buildings.

VA did do one good thing in 2010. They made it legal to carry a loaded handgun in middle console of vehicle. That pretty much removed any need for me to get a CCW. If I carry it concealed, which is rare, there's a good reason and cops aren't going to be there anyway or it's not going to matter.

If you want a CCW get the VA resident and Utah non-resident. Covers the most states! Only takes a 3 hour class. You can take the class at the Chantilly expo gun shows with Historic Arms. Taught by a racer, Jason Gibbens.

yeah read the article. As a CCW holder va resident this really doesn't effect that group. It's just dumping the reciprocity. Now it would suck if other states did the same but didn't see that mentioned in the article.

Welcome to Maryland, fellas.

What I don't understand is how this decision was made unilaterally without going up for a resolution vote through your state's state senate?

Actually it sets in place a tit-for-tat confusing web and patchwork of regulations.

It will affect lots of other people too...

because most states reciprocity is a two way agreement. if VA dumps a state, then that state will usually dump VA.

Ergo, you'll have fewer places you can legally travel with your VA permit

Fuck VA. So glad I left. Fucking moonbats are taking over

As a former va resident and regular visitor it fucks me with my AR permit...thankfully Va appears to make nonresident permits simple to obtain, guess I'll go that route to make sure I'm good.

I'm just starting on the route to gun ownership and CCW. I don't have the training, experience and haven't read enough about these issues so I have to ask . . . .

It sounds like they're stating that VA makes sure that a minimum standard of training and education has been met before it will issue a permit.

That they're claiming that not all other states meet those standards and may have issued permits to persons who's training/education may be sub-standard.

If all that's not true then where do I sign?

But if (a BIG if) all that is true then would we want inadequately trained persons walking around with concealed in VA?

Maybe not for this reason alone, but this state is circling the toilet.
