Von: I Gotta GO !!!! Netherlands or Romania - November 16, 2010, 03:11 PM

Ok, I’m bored…EmoMoe attack.....

I need to get the hell on real fast.

I want to jump across the ocean like in 3 weeks and I have two locations in mind. All the Flights are about the same. Im only going for like 6 to 8 days. This isn’t a vacation….more like a Mancation. Im bored and dead inside, so I need to see new things to make me feel alive.

1. Amsterdam, Netherlands.
2. Bucharest, Romania. aka Transylvania

I have a friend in Netherlands and she would come and chill out with me while I explore her town and old castles and churches. Hotel is 500 meters from the tram station. Rooms are $79 Euros per night….about $120 US bucks.
Or
Romania, where I have 2 Friends that stayed with me and can drive me around. She said I can stay free room and board and go visit Vlad the Impailer’s castle, visit the 3 clubs and just check out the old world.

All of these places are cold as hell, but I don’t care. I’m too busy during the warm months with gym, racing, bicycling and get discouraged. Air Fare to Europe is cheap as Dirt. $700 round trip.

Which would you chose?
Amsterdam: personal guide, less flight time, more tourists friendly, cost more for hotel room?

Romania: Only 5 black guys in the whole country, long fight time, colder than Amsterdam, with free room and board, Friends can drive me to everything. Not much to see, Cheaper in the long run than Amsterdam.

I coulda sworn he was Canadian.

Von:
Very easy decision for me, haven't been to either destination, but Amsterdam would be my first choice. Have a blast man like DC said take some pics. Not just of the chicks though, europe is a beautiful place.

Buying a sportbike to go the speed limit (which you do not do in your car) is like buying a condom to look at it.

Do you buy a condom to look at it? No you buy it to fuck.
Thank you Rossi

Netherlands.

Amsterdamn. It's a good time. You don't need to drive anywhere so I would take that off the list of positive for Romania. You can rent a bicycle and get everywhere you need. There is also plenty of public transportation.

I'm not saying Romania couldn't be fun. I would just choose Amsterdam though because I had a good time there. If you choose Amsterdam, check out the Pink Elephant. You'll have quite an interesting time.

Go Netherlands, no language issues and tons of your kind of stuff to do.
Cheapoair.com, try to buy a United flight and upgrade to Economy Plus, united has direct flights from Dulles.

WTF.

Really, the only thing you should base your decision on is who you want to hang out with more. That is what will make one destination better than the other. Realistically, you should just man up and go to both. Intra Europe flights are super cheap generally.

I do think Europe is best done in the Spring/Summer and it's not even close. (unless you go to ski resorts.)

moe, have you considered spending 3 or 4 days in each? i've been to amsterdam and want to go back, but don't think i'd like to spend a whole week there. 3 days seems perfect. take a day to fly to romania and spend 3 days there too. it can't be that much more expensive. i think you'd get maximum bang for the buck by checking them both out for a few days.

and, may i recommend the 'truffles' in amsterdam. 15 grams will make your night much more interesting. and if you time it on a friday or saturday night, pretty young ladies start coming out to have some fun around 8pm.

You may want to check with your FSO first if you have a clearance. Romania would be my vote since Amsterdam is too popular. Nothing is stopping you from landing there and taking the train though. (looks like a 35hr ride though)

Shit, let me know the dates!
