Want To Help Me Film Ride Of The Patriots / Rolling Thunder? - May 2, 2009, 06:04 PM

All,

I'll be filming Ride Of The Patriots again this year ... and I'm looking for people who want to help me do it. It will be held Sunday 24 May 2009.

You can film or take still pix. All you need is a mini-DV tape-based camcorder or a digital camera ... that's it.

I'll collect all the video tapes and pix afterward and then do the editing.

There's no pay or anything, I do it for fun. So, if you want to be a part of it. Just lemme know.

You can spend the whole day with us ... or not. Up to you. I had a blast last year doing it.

Here's last years video:

We will meet at Patriot Harley Davidson in Fairfax at 6:30 am.

Wow. I just watched the video from last year again. Great job. Some of those pics still give me chills.

I'll be riding, not sure if I'll leave with you guys (so early!) or with the cruiser group from Jimmy's in Herndon. Will forward pics to you either way if you want.

Cheers

Hey, I want to thank CannonballGB and Dave Z.for helping me yesterday. I couldn't do this w/o folks helping me out and it never would have happened w/o you two.

I looked through all the raw stuff you guys got and I think it's awesome! I got what I need.

Last year, I used the audio track from the professional guys that came to film the Army Sergeant Major's camera crew ... so this year I knew I had to do it with my own gear ... and I was a bit nervous. I was most concerned about audio quality and mixing different formats of tape (HDV and standard) ... and not getting enough different angles.

Looks like it all worked good! You guys did a great job and the audio is super!

Goal is to have this done by mid-JUN (I'm going on a cruise with my wife the week of the 20th).

THANK YOU!
