What Anti-Spyware Software Do You Use? - February 19, 2010, 10:51 AM

I just started using Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware, it caught stuff that Microsoft Security Essentials let right in. It got me wondering what you all use to clean stuff up?

CA suite.
3 years now and no more problems. Ive been online at home and visiting pron sites since 1998...on a regular I would get vicous virus, trojan horses...everything. Later on I started using some Free shit (cant remember what its called now) but it was pretty good from about 2001 to 2006, but some hardcore Spam pron sites had that STD to give my computer.

So I used Microsoft firewall and free virus protection. It works pretty good, but i still would get a virus of some kind. So I switched to CA in 2007/2008.

Thus far no problems at all. Im completly happy with it.

Whats CA Von?

Also bentl, if you use Firefox, absolutley gotta get the Web of Trust (WOT) plugin. Will keep you from going to bad sites....sites are rated/color coded for safety and can check why they got that rating. Keeps ya safer big time.

Screw everything else everyone has said EXCEPT what this guy said....this is exactly what you need....its the SHIZ-NIT!!!

I use Eset Smart Home Security and Spybot....I have used absolutely every major virus/malware protection there is due to me being a tester of the products when I was in school. This sits in the corner and ONLY does what its suppose to. Takes basically no space at all and catches everything.

Kudos to this dude...his computer is definitely riding high and clean just as mine is also...

Been using Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware for years.. free version doesn't run in the background to protect you, but I hate that sh*t anyway.. I prefer to manually run my scans.. So this is a great, free product..

thanks dude. I'm sure the other programs are good...just what I recommend based on experience.

Von, no one program is perfect. But if you stack the best 2-3 together, it'll all but gaurantee you'll be squeaky clean. It's like killing zombies... gotta have 2-3 different guns to get the job done and make sure them zombies stay down.
