What Cell Phone Provider to Get? - September 17, 2009, 10:34 AM

OK I have to buy a new cell phone. What should I get? What did you wish you got? What do you have?

I am leaning towards Boost Mobile because of the 50 dollars a month and no conract.

Thoughts?

instead of stating providers can you please give the reasons why?

Giving only the name of the provider is not very helpful at all

T-Mobile has the most competitive plan.
And there's a free little trick to get FREE minutes in and out.

Open a Google Voice account and then tag that number to your FAV 5.

Bingo. Free calls in and out that never eat into your minutes.

Verizon

I have used sprint, AT&T, Nextel, old Cell-one back in the day. By far Verizon has been hands down the best coverage coast to coast in some very remote areas and also more important the best customer service I have ever had. for example I had a LG dare and didnt like it at all, I went in and said this thing sucks and they said im sorry to hear that what can we do to make you happy. They gave me the BB curve and off I went a very happy customer. Anytime I have a question about my bill or what I can do to save a little money they look into things and come up with a way to save me money. Yes you pay a bit more for verizon but in my mind I have no problem paying for great coverage and awesome Customer service!!

Verizon has best coverage period. Unless you're in an elevator you're gonna have bars. Good selection of phones...the new Google phone is gonna whoop the iphones butt and ya won't have to have AT&T crappy service. Good customer service to.

I've been to Cali several dozen times on business. Torrance, Hermosa, LA basin, San Jose, SF ... and never had a problem with coverage.

If I'm off the TMobile network, I just roam and pick up another provider.

Hell, I've even gotten coverage in the booneys with no real issue.

Occasionally, if I'm way out there I'll lose EDGE/DATA coverage, but not voice so no biggie.
