What was going on on 110 this morning? - July 10, 2012, 08:29 AM

So I was driving in this morning on 110 near the Pentagon. They had the exit blocked for 395 and crime scene tape up all over, and lots of cops.

I was thinking the same thing Dodge, Lots of tour buses park further north on that stretch so people can access the cemetery but that far south is pretty far from the cemetery and it was to early in the morning for tours. It was probably an accident and now whoever hit the guy is going to be in a huge amount of trouble.

Guaranteed it was someone looking at the phone or texting. Unfortunately I'm not sure you could hit a person and not know what just happened so they are truly fucked.

I have to agree that they knew they hit something. But 45-65 mph plus home boy was wearing camouflage. Also this happened before 5:50 so my guess is around 5:00 so it was not full light. Maybe they though they hit a dear? Or maybe like allot of people just freak the fuck out, I mean what's a person doing on the stretch of road. last thing I would be looking for is a pedestrian in that area.

Why is that? People hit stuff on the road all the time. When you're going 60mph, you are covering 90 feet per second. Very easy to hit something that gets in the way, be it a human or a deer.

If they don't have a camera catching the whole thing including the license plate, I would be very disappointed in our surveillence state.

Because when you hit someone, and then leave, it's Very Illegal (tm)

I was refering to it being very easy to hit something while traveling 60... Crazy that someone would leave the scene but I guess people do all sorts of crazy things in traumautic moments.

Right, and the person you responded to was referring to the hit and run aspect of the incident when he said that the dude was "fucked".

But not when you hit a deer. Dude may felt and heard it, but never saw what he hit. Been awhile since I have been on that stretch of road, but I seem to remember there being few places to pull off. So I can see the driver thinking he hit a deer and driving a ways, if not all the way to work, before looking at the damage.
