What happened today in Leesburg??? - July 10, 2009, 06:29 PM

I got an alert from Loudoun County around 2:15p today that said "Leesburg Police on the scene of active incident in SW Leesburg. All residents encouraged to stay out of the area or indoors."

Anyone know what happened?

Someone posted a link in the SB from the loudon times website. Something about a robbery, pursuit, and possible hostage situation. ??

Edit: http://www.citizenet.com/ is what I found from Google

Ah, I was guessing it was a stand-off situation...

What a manly man. Holding an 80-year-old couple hostage.

Someone blow his brains out, please... Don't we have sniper-type on here who'd volunteer??

There was rumor of a two-wheeled posse heading out there, but I'm not sure they'd make it through Loudon County's finest's roadblocks.

Passed thru on 15 South... VSP has the right hand turn into a neighborhood at the light just BEFORE you exit onto 7 west. One light down from the Shell on the corner of Catoctin and 15... this was at 1815 hrs.
