Talking What have you found... - August 28, 2009, 07:55 PM

So I've been doing some work on my neighbors cars, things like: tire rotation, polish, detailing, throttle body work, IAC cleaning, etc, etc

Anyway, so I started working on their 2001 Avalon, and to remove the throttle body and IAC, you have to take off the airbox and tubing, so I take the cover off, and then remove the filter and....well look at the pictures

Okay:

No Worries:

So what have you found in your car or bike cleaning and/or mechanical "adventures"?!?!?

yep see it all the time in our cars at the shop... mice nests in the cabin air filter area, in the blower wheels, in the airbox etc. looks like a chipmunk or mouse was storing the dog food for later in the winter in that airbox... seen that too back in annapolis when i worked there... lady finally caught the chipmunk in her garage etc... tell ur ppl to moth balls in the glovebox... just like moths (and most ppl) they do not like it one bit and will not come inside the car again..........

Worked in a shop for three years I have seen trucks with show quality paint that have every panel even bumpers zip tied together wtf; and the rankest smell trying to do a little resto to a old newport and pulled the hub cap off and found a baked family of mice rotting to the rim "oh that smell can you smell that smell". People in general do some retarded shit to their cars and colorado is very diverse.

Worst thing I've found was the aftermath of a cat trying to sleep on my water pump when I had an IROC about 15 years ago. It wasn't pretty, and didn't smell very good after the 50 mile ride home from where I was. It wasn't fun making the call to my sister to explain why she couldn't find her cat, either.

One customer found pictures of her husband with another woman in their trunk when we took a bunch of stuff out to get to the spare tire. The fireworks that proceeded that were fun to watch. Other than that, drugs, sex toys and odors so bad I had to pull the car in the shop with the window down and my head out the window, holding my breath. One lady with a Lexus some how had a very large colony of ants that took up residence in her carpeting.
