What makes SB.net better than SB.com? - October 5, 2009, 12:03 PM

Just curious why two sites with the same name for the same area. What makes one better than the other? Is it like the Jets and the Sharks from West Side Story (itís a musical)? Are most of you on both sights? Why or why not?

Perhaps I should have started my post with " after searching thread titles for dcsportbikes.com, sportbikes.com, .com, .commers with no hits and then searching the entire post for dcsportbikes.com with a result of 56 hits, the first of which with any relevance to the subject dated 2006 I thought Id ask ......... " Please don’t assume that just because you have discussed this subject 1,989,234,874,989,234.07 times already that it is in its own thread or is easy to find.

Besides it’s an important question. Your answers say a lot about you, your site, and what you think about other sights and riders in the area. For a site with close to 7000 members you may not care if one person comes or goes but it is important to those who are new to the area that are looking for like minded guys and gals to ride and socialize with. i.e. if your site focus was stunting or the like I wouldn’t be interested in being a member because my interest are racing and non-aggressive street riding.

With the number of people on this site, it's usually easy to find people of like mind when it comes to how you want to ride. It also can extend into other hobbies, e.g. snow boarding, social events.

So, browse around, see if there is any interest, or even just introduce yourself in the welcome center, state your interests, and you may start getting hits.

Dude, no need to take it to heart, its just been discussed a billion times. .com has more maryland peoples, and more slang. .net is more virginians, and less slang. we have a shoutbox which makes or breaks it if your job allows alotta downtime. some people are on both. looks like a lot of racers on either site.
