What Would You Do 2 (WWYD2)? - August 27, 2013, 06:20 AM

So, you have your business in a large flex office/warehouse park. Most of the businesses operate 7am-5pm M-F; so evenings, nights and weekends the area is almost deserted.

You work odd/long hours.

The whole park (100plus tenants)has been the target of repeated theft, mostly truck batteries (a 25 ft diesel needs 4, at a couple hundred a pop).

Two of your business neighbors have been hit multiple (5)times in the last few months. Most of the small businesses have high deductibles or are "self insured" for thefts like these.

You go to work Saturday, mid-morning (about 10am) and as you pull in, you notice an unfamiliar pickup parked over by the line of a neighbor's box trucks, parked at an angle towards you, no front tag.

Two guys are stacking batteries (about 20) on the ground at the back of the pickup; when you pull in they both look up. Both look sketchy.

There is NOBODY else around.

What do you do?

What do you do?

Do you have a large box truck that you can 'accidentally' block them in with?

Are the other business owners local/ can they get there quickly? Give them a call, tell them to get their boys there NOW.

If no and no, go over to say "Hi, welcome to the park... you work for Johnny? I know most of his guys, don't recognize you... I have some donuts, you want some?" (lie if you need to)
Go over, say hi, be friendly, try to gather as much information as possible.

you will likely end up with a truck with severe damage. Chances are, the truck they are loading batteries in is stolen and they will ram the shit out of you to get out.

Grab gun, check for skittles and sprite.

Kidding. I would call the cops and explain the situation. Then watch them from a far while writing down as many details as possible. Possibly call the owner of said trucks if I had his number.

Then again... That's just me.

On the internet... Everyone is an expert.

And now...The dancing Banana:

Call the police. Stacking batteries after having been hit multiple times...duh. You found your thieves. If you can black them in with a larger vehicle, do it while on the phone. Get video & pictures.

I want my baby back, baby back, baby back....Chileeeeee's bay back...
