It's completely different. It's nolonger "I hate my father and want to slit my wrist." Their vocals are a lot stronger, the music has power behind it and the messages are real and will hit home with a lot of people. It was a huge risk for them to take with their gigantic emo fanbase... but personally, I'm glad they took it.

Paul you got mail.

Linkin Park - My Opinon - Still emo, same 4th grade "rap" lyrics, the lead singer has become even stronger and will probably be one of the greats when he swaps bands, as usual, good music - I've always liked the music, good beats, good transitions, strong melodies... it's worth a couple downloads... not great music by any measure.

Hmm, I never really saw them as Emo, but any band trying to break out of that mold gets a A+ from me. MCR is the first one that comes to mind. How did that come up? "Hey guys, let's make an entire album about death and make it sound fun."

i am going to call on this. i dont think you have ever truely heard an emo group. as food for thought, find some Taking Back Sunday, Saves The Day, Dashboard Confessional, and Death Cab for Cutie (those are the more mainstream groups you will find), or to a lesser more pop-emo extent Fall Out Boy (god i despise them and cringed when typing that). those are true "emo" bands as you will find depressed little teenagers crying over their music. you wont ever see some kid crying over LP lyrics. also find me any emo band that has an MC and a DJ. the closest you could ever come (and its a long shot) is Gym Class Heros first album, but that again is a long shot.

you may try and classify linkin park as Screamo, that would be kind of close as a few of their tracks that do not have Mike Shinoda do sound very much like Thrice (KILLER group, i highly recommend!). ok, that is all for now. i have a nice two and a half hour drive to Delaware. "Hi, I'm in Delaware....."
