What's your side business/extra income? - July 16, 2010, 09:32 AM

So it seems quite a few peeps on here got their own side businesses and ways to earn extra part/beer/crack money, so what are yall doing? I ain't business minded but I been workin on a few things, mostly reselling stuff online I buy at yard sales. So what yall doing? Real estate referrals? Lawn care? Slangin dope on the corner? I'm always looking for new ideas cuz I don't make that much and won't be making much until I get that expensive piece of paper (bachelors degree).

I have off and on supported small business. Mostly fixing laptops and taking care of small servers for them. But now it's so much cheaper for companies to use a could service.

I hustle bike parts. I'll buy rotor and rim for $150, sell rotors for $100, then either keep rim or sell rim for $100+. I'm good at flipping stuff.

Most of the time it's word of mouth. I am pretty good at networking. And if the economy ever pic's back up I will start my own company to do it full time. To be honest there are some many small companies in this area that if you can provide an easy solution you can get money hand over fist. If I had some start up capital I would set up a VM environment in a server farm someplace and just do VM's of MS small business 2008 for companies. Then hire a couple kids to run around fixing laptops.

You really do. You absolutely need to create a less stressful, comfortable environment in your home with new carpet.

I do armed security full time and personal train/weapons on the side. Personal training is a good side job if you get into the right gym.

“Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not good. Hence a Prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires”.

I taught various courses, CISSP, CCNA,Network +, Security +, and others.

I'm not sure how much I'll do since I'm actually going back to school but I may tutor college level math since I've been told that the rates are pretty good these days...some people are making $100 per hour so I may do that if I have the time.
