Where to get free Credit Score ?? - January 18, 2010, 10:04 AM

So,

Not sure if any of you know... I've been trying to find a place that provides your Credit Score.
I know about freecreditreport.com. but they charge a monthly free after the first month.. and I'm not sure if they actually show you your credit score. I know they show they credit report.. but the score?
Thanks !

I dont think you can get a free score. You can get a free report but not a score. Theres some website like CreditKarma.com or something like that offers free scores. But everyone says its suspect and its not accurate.

I use Truecredit.com I pay a monthly fee but they email me anytime there is a change to my report. I have been trying to rebuild my credit for a couple years and I find it worth the money to have all the information on hand all the time and get the updates.

This is the *actual* free credit report page.

https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

This is the annual credit report you are entitle to by the gov't. Don't know if it includes your score, but does have all three major credit groups.

+1 on Truecredit.com They are actually run by Transunion and pretty acurate. I compaired them against equifax and the info was correct. Truecredit.com will show you all 3 report scores but keep in mind the wide swing you can see between each one.

God Speed Jeff! You'll never be forgotten.

You are not entitled to a free score, just a free report. You will have to pay to get the score (if you want it from all 3 credit agencies, you have to pay each of them individually though).

Use http://www.annualcreditreport.com that is the official one. The other ones (freecreditreport, etc) are all businesses trying to sell you monthly packages. You can still get your free credit report through them but you have to dig to find it and make sure you don't sign up for any extra services.
