Who reads magazines on iPad/Pod/Phone? - April 12, 2011, 02:17 PM

Ok App Wizards (Spud and friends )

Along the iBooks line of thought: do you read mags on your iPad?

If so what Apps have you tried and which have your preference?

gracias

I would love to have my magazines on my Ipad or Iphone. I didnt even know there was an app to be able to do that. i thought you had to get it from each and every magazine that you wanted to read.

My wife reads a couple of books a week on her iPad using iBooks.

I read a couple on mine using iBooks and the Nook reader. They are almost identical.

I'm trying to avoid a dedicated app - at best rebrand a white label one

FlipSeek does stuff like that

Zinio has an app for both I believe. I have it on my iPhone. You can purchase issues / subscriptions through them and read anytime, you can download for offline reading too. My motorcyclist subscription is through them.

Their PC app is a persnickety. I'd rather read it on an ipad or my iPhone. Works much smoother.

There used to be a site that took all the mag PDF's and converted them to mobile format for online. Can't remember the name at the moment. I'll have to come back to this when I run thru my bookmarks at home.

slow is an understatement, IH is firmly rooted in dead trees - as it should be.
But there is no reason not to add to it...at least that's my take

I read all my books now on the iPad. I havnt found an easy app yet that I can convert all my magazine subscriptions. If there was one that had all my mags in it, i would get it in a heartbeat as I would rather read my mags on the iPad as well.

My current print magazines are:

Maxim
Mens health
Roundel (BMW mag)
Entrepreneur
Cigar aficionado

I don't get any tech mags because my rss feed has plenty. Again read on the iPad.

My wife said she would rather read her US weekly gossip mags on the iPad as well.

Makes more sense and would save some trees.
